Astronomy
Astronomy is my area of interest. Astronomy is a field that explores objects in the sky and seeks knowledge of those objects. An astronomer will look at and research the sun, moon, stars, planets and anything else that exists in the universe, to figure out their nature and purpose. An individual can be an astronomer as long as he/she has been researching and studying objects that exist in the sky.
Spirituality
I consider it enjoyable to learn about spirituality. Spirituality could possibly mean that a person believes in something greater than just their being, for example, an afterlife or higher power, and that this idea can come from personal experience and spiritual guidance during many crisis points throughout a person’s lifetime. I consider it enjoyable to learn about spirituality.
Mindfulness
Practicing mindfulness allows me to explore the world I see and feel inside and outside myself in the present moment. While practicing mindfulness, I generally use meditation, but I am also mindful of my surroundings and body, which are both part of the content of my mind, over an extended period of time.
Positivity
“I feel as though I’m a positive person who generally views things positively; therefore, I attempt to discover the positives in all aspects of my life, even when experiencing difficult times. The term “positive” can apply to something that results positively (a positive outcome) during an experiment/test or to something’s possibility of being successful.
About Lunar Junkie
Born in Chicago and raised in Mountain View, CA Andre Owens has a long-standing interest in space exploration. However, he also has an interest in creative expression (design, photography, writing, and film) and now shoots star-filled pictures. What sparks him? He blends precision techniques with relatable human stories. After returning to watching the night sky in 2018, he wanted to help newbies enjoy looking at it without confusion. So, he’s all about hands-on, affordable ways. This is where Lunar Junkie comes into play; he shares his story to make others feel inspired to look up at the sky, learn something new, and possibly get some old excitement for space again.

Amateur Astronomy
After all, chasing after amateur astronomy has always been my top dream, and I really wanted to be part of the Space Community. I enjoy hanging out with amazing people, hearing their thoughts and getting their feedback while sharing my space images. I hope that one day I can inspire others to gaze up at the stars.
Deep Sky Objects
Deep-sky objects (DSOs) refer to astronomical entities located outside our Solar System, mainly including galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters.
the Milky Way'
The galactic core is the luminous heart of our Milky Way, containing a supermassive black hole along with a tightly packed group of stars.
- The Milky Way is a disk spanning approximately 120,000 light years in width, featuring a central bulge that measures around 12,000 light years in diameter.
- Our galaxy consists of roughly 90% dark matter, which is invisible, and around 10% "luminous matter," or the matter that is visible to us.
- The Milky Way is considered a medium-sized galaxy, containing approximately 200 billion stars. In contrast, the largest galaxy known to us is IC 1101, which boasts more than 100 trillion stars.
